2018 Year in Review - El Camino CPCU Chapter
In January, we kicked off the New Year with a great presentation on “Big Data & Fraud Analytics”. We learned how big data is changing the insurance industry and explored the types of big data like artificial intelligence, & how it’s being used to help underwrite & adjudicate claims. A case study was also reviewed to give us a better understanding on how it’s helping combat claims fraud.

2017 Year in Review - El Camino CPCU Chapter
In January, we kicked off the New Year with a great presentation on “Slip, Trip & Falls – Fact or Friction?”. We learned how to determine why these claims happen and some of the investigative techniques to use to determine if the claim should be covered, denied or if there’s potential subrogation or red flags.
In February, we enhanced our understanding of Insurance Agents’ & Brokers’ Liability and were given examples of Liability or comparative fault of an insured. Plus, we learned new concepts like “Third eye blind” fees & loss prevention.
