Topic Summary: Ethics - Insurance and Beyond

 

Description:

  • This workshop is constructed upon the foundational concept that insurance is a business of trust. The discussion frames this concept within the context of societal issues to which all can relate. Relevant topical examples will be utilized to illustrate the challenges faced by insurance professionals. This session is not designed to teach or preach! It is designed to highlight the importance of ethics to insurance professionals. The goal of the workshop is to raise awareness to ethical issues in order to help “build an ethical, effective, sustainable business culture that safeguards your reputation.” Josephson Institute – 2011  

 

  • Fire Cause Analysis (FCA) will be holding a virtual training webinar for the El Camino CPCU Chapter titled: "Ethics - Insurance and Beyond". This 1-hour course has been approved for 1 CE Credit in California (CA) and Texas (TX). If you wish to receive CE credit in one or both of these states, please provide your license information for each state during the registration process.

Ulises Castellon, CPCU RPA, has worked as a claims professional for over thirty-five years. In 1996, he associated with Fire Cause Analysis, a premier forensic investigation and engineering firm, and is currently Chief Executive Officer. He is also the principal of a consulting business, serving clients as an insurance consultant and expert witness in claims handling and coverage matters. He regularly teaches courses on issues ranging from Arson and Fraud Investigation to Fair Claims Practices. He has presented at various statewide & national organizations on numerous occasions and presented "Bad Faith Nightmares - Trends & Themes" at the 2018 CPCU Society's Annual Conference in San Diego.
